Meet the Team
Back in Form, Inc. is providing its clients with a staff of highly educated and motivated fitness professionals ready to share their insights on a healthier, more active life-style. All of our staff members are dedicated to continued education to better serve our clients. Standing memberships with the American College of Sports Medicine, IDEA, and the American Senior Fitness Association (ASFA) are an essential part of this effort to keep our staff in close touch with the latest in research and training techniques.
The Trainers
Hartmut Broring, M.S.
Hartmut Broring, M.S. was born 1967 in Cloppenburg, Germany. He first came to the United States as an intern in 1992 working for the Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired in San Francisco; returning here as a permanent resident after finishing his Masters degree in Exercise/Sports Therapy (majored in Cardiopulmonary and Orthopedic Rehabilitation) at the University of Cologne Germany in June of 1995. He founded BACK IN FORM in 1996. In 2001 Hartmut was recognized by IDEA (a leading association of fitness professionals) as a MASTER TRAINER, the highest level of recognition for Personal Trainers. Hartmut loves to work with clients of all ages and fitness needs. His education does favor post-rehabilitation and the work with seniors.
Adriana Espinoza, B.S. Kinesiology
Adriana Espinoza is a 2006 graduate of St. Mary’s College with a degree in kinesiology. As a life long athlete she decided to take her passion for fitness and make it her career.
Over the course of her kinesiology education Adriana gained extensive knowledge of the many benefits of proper exercise, nutrition and cardiovascular training. She came to understand the relationship between quality of movement and overall human health. Her goal is to help others live a more active and fit life.
Adriana is also dedicated to continuing her education, currently working on her master’s degree.
Stacy J. Johnson, CPT
Stacy Johnson, being a professional dancer, has learned that physical fitness and proper nutrition are the keys to a happy and healthy lifestyle. Soon after touring the world as a featured performer with the Tony award-winning Broadway Show , "Blast!", Stacy earned her certification as a "Master Trainer" from the National Personal Training Institute.
In her years as a Personal Trainer, Stacy has helped her clients achieve ultimate success through her dynamic and positive approach to exercise. With a focus on developing a strong core, she uses progressive balance, strength, and functional techniques to provide a solid foundation to build upon.
Stacy is dedicated to giving her clients the knowledge and motivation they need to achieve their fitness and health goals. She is currently working towards an advanced certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and is pursuing a BS degree in Kinesiology. Stacy also teaches dance for children and instructs nationally competitive color guards and dance teams.
Susan Berry, PTA
Susan Berry received her degree as a Physical Therapist
Assistant in 2004. With an emphasis on
orthopedic rehabilitation, she has worked with injuries ranging from tennis elbow
to total knee replacements. She holds
certifications in massage therapy, kinesiotaping and has experience in
neuromuscular re-education techniques and spinal rehabilitation. In addition to her work in physical therapy,
she has a strong interest in health and fitness. Susan has a background in a variety of sports
including 12 years of martial arts, cycling and road and trail running. As a lifelong athlete and fitness buff, she
has had personal experience with injury and rehab and understands its unique
challenges.
Steve Cheregosha, CPT
Steve Cheregosha is a Certified Personal Trainer (School of Fitness) and Certified Nutritionist (07/2005- The Professional Career Development Institute).
Understanding that fitness has many different meanings to different people Steve’s personal experience with fitness training is a spiritual one that helps him to relieve stress, keep his body and mind in shape and create a deep sense of overall health and well-being. Proper nutrition and rest are the other pillars of Steve’s personal wellness program.

Cindy Walker, R.Y.T
Cindy Walker, R.Y.T. has been passionately involved in Yoga for over 20 years. She has a B.A. in Movement Therapy and Psychology, and holds many yoga certifications including two from the White Lotus Foundation, and one from Erich Schiffman, Bryan Kest and Judith Lasater. She is experienced in teaching many types of Hatha Yoga including Vinyasa Flow, Kundalini, Restorative, Pre-natal, Post-partum & Yin Yoga. Her teaching style is eclectic, and draws into each class the wisdom of the eight limbs of Yoga theory. She teaches a holistic approach that uses breath, movement, imagery, humor, psychology and deep relaxation.
Cindy can be found around the bay area teaching at many locations including The Los Gatos Swim & Racquet Club (where she has been the yoga program director and workshop coordinator for 11 years), at Dancing Yogi, Willow Glen Yoga, Courtside, and at Yoga Reformation. She is also the creator of the “Yoga for Healing Program” at the Stanford Complimentary Program at Stanford Hospital, where she teaches restorative yoga to cancer patients and to people with severe health limitations.
When not teaching Yoga, Cindy is actively involved in raising her two year old daughter: Taitem Rose, her puppy: Demitasse Boo, and managing her hi-tech husband, Jess.

Alliances with other health experts have proven to be very beneficial for our team as well as our clients as they offer different perspectives on improving and/or maintaining a healthy life. We will add your physician/therapist to this team of advisers to maximize your results and produce individual life-style and exercise-programs that work.
Jamie Wallach, M.D.
Jamie Wallach, M.D. began her professional career as a Registered Dietitian after graduating from University of California at Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics. After working for five years as a dietitian, she attended the Chicago Medical School. During her years as a dietitian, throughout her pediatric residency at Lucille Salter Packard Children’s Hospital, and over the past seven years as a practicing pediatrician she has been constantly confronted by the reality of the growing national problem of childhood obesity and overweight. To combat this, she has developed a program based on nutrition, exercise, behavior modification, and sound pediatric practice called "Bay Area Committed To Kids". Having used fragments of this program for years in her pediatric practice in the San Jose area, she is now set to open a pediatric practice dedicated to educating the community about this growing problem and addressing it in a way that involves the entire family and is based on sound medical practice.
Kris Von Almen, Ph.D.
Kris von Almen, Ph.D. received his doctorate in applied developmental psychology in 1987 from the University of New Orleans and is a co-founder and former director of the Committed to Kids Weight Management Program. He is coauthor on several scientific papers detailing the intervention effects of the Committed to Kids program as well as a coauthor of TRIMKIDS (HarperCollins, 2001), written for parents of overweight children. Dr. von Almen spent 15 years as a research psychologist and assistant clinical professor in pediatrics at LSU Health Sciences Center and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. More recently he relocated to San Jose where he is a consultant and lecturer on the topic of child development and childhood obesity.
Toni Bloom, M.S., R.D.
Toni Bloom, M.S., R.D., received her Masters degree in nutrition from Penn State University and her Bachelors degree in nutrition/pre-medicine from Ohio University. She founded Toni Bloom & Associates in 1991 and the nutrition counseling and consulting company has since expanded to three office locations in the San Francisco/Silicon Valley Area. An avid exerciser, Toni is the Nutrition Director for the Pacific Athletic and Decathlon Clubs and a sports nutrition instructor at San Jose State University. She is also the elected Past Chair of the American Dietetic Association's Nutrition Entrepreneurs practice group.
